PLATFORM
"I have been an active member of the community for many years. Serving on various community boards and school district committees has allowed me to meet hundreds of residents. I've listened to them and shared their concerns. In these conversations, regardless of political persuasion, I have found much common ground. I will continue to listen to all sides as your representative on the County Board."
ISSUES
Integrity
"I will work with integrity on your behalf and strive to be a responsible steward of the county's resources."
Robyn will serve the residents of Kendall County with honesty and integrity. Residents have been feeling the pinch of high taxes and stagnant wages for years. Robyn will work hard on your behalf to be a good steward of the county’s resources and to act responsibly and with integrity with your money. To that end, she will not accept the county-sponsored health insurance, which currently costs the county over $16,000 per year.
Residents of District 2 deserve a board member who will attend board and committee meetings so that their voices are represented at the county level. Robyn has the time and dedication to attend these meetings.
Community Safety
"I will partner with law enforcement and residents to implement community safety measures that decrease criminal activity."
Robyn's children attended Long Beach Elementary in Boulder Hill for twelve years. She shares the concerns of Boulder Hill residents about the rise in crime in the area and has been attending the Boulder Neighborhood Watch meetings. As your county representative, Robyn will work with the community and law enforcement to ensure that residents' safety is the number one priority. We must find common sense ways to ensure that all of our residents feel safe in their homes and communities.
Economic Development and Property Taxes
"I will fight for economic development to ease the burden on homeowners. While the Board has done a good job holding the levy steady, there’s more we can do to attract new businesses and ease the burden of property taxes we share."
Everyone agrees property taxes are too high in Kendall County. The county’s portion of your bill is small, less than eight percent. The economic development that Oswego is doing to attract new businesses will help diversify the tax base and take some of the pressure off of homeowners. Kendall County can do more to help attract new businesses. The county has a loan program that can be used to help new businesses get off the ground. Unfortunately, that doesn’t always happen. Robyn will fight for these resources to help attract new businesses to District 2, which will help lower your property taxes.
